Spent the day in London yesterday with Ed and went to a couple of photography exhibitions. The first was at the Barbican exhibiting Strange and Familiar: Britain as Revealed by International Photographers, which was curated by Martin Parr. This exhibition considers how the photographers from the 1930’s onwards have captured the social, cultural and political identity of the UK.
Then we went to the National Portrait Gallery to see Vogue 100, a Century of Style which in collaboration with the British Vogue showcased images from 1916 when it first stated up to today. There were some amazing images from the likes of Man Ray, Cecil Beaton, Horst, Helmut Newton, Lord Snowden, David Bailey, Nick Knight, Mario Testino, Tim Walker and many more. It was an exhibition that has inspired me as DAKapture to put more effort into my fashion photography as up to now most of it has been more creative.
